
HISTORY OF THE STREET RUE DU FAUBOURG SAINT HONORE

The Hôtel De Castiglione, located in one of the oldest streets in the center of Paris:
The Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré appeared around 1200, in the Middle Ages it passed from the Saint Honoré church (now disappeared), to the Pont du Roule.
At the end of the 17th century, the street developed rapidly under the influence of wealthy financiers who built private mansions there.
This growth was relaunched in 1757 with the creation of Place Louis XV, now Place de la Concorde.
Nowadays, Rue du Faubourg Saint Honoré is occupied by embassies, the Elysée Palace as well as numerous luxury stores, rich antiques and haute couture.
